AMERICAN EXPRESS and the International Bank of Azerbaijan announced the launch of the first ever AMERICAN EXPRESS® CARDS in Azerbaijan

The new cards offer local consumers innovative benefits and advantages

BAKU, 1 May 2008 - The International Bank of Azerbaijan as a partner to American Express in Azerbaijan has announced the exclusive issuance and promotion on Azeri market of American Express® Card and American Express® Gold Card, denominated in manats.

The new cards are developed with consideration of needs of the wide range of Azeri consumers, interested in the card product, which does not only reflect their financial needs, but also their lifestyle. The American Express Cards being launched today provide a high level of financial flexibility and unique lifestyle features and benefits.

These American Express cards provide a number of new advantages and services never before seen in the Azeri market, as well as basic privileges and services, which are an integral part of American Express brand and products all over the world.

• World-Class Customer Service - American Express Cardmembers will have a dedicated team of professionals ready to provide 24-hour customer service in Azerbaijan and around the world. Cardmembers will always feel at home in any of the 2,200 American Express Travel Service offices, which can assist in everything from making travel arrangements to providing free, emergency card replacement within 24 hours in Azerbaijan and 48 hours anywhere in the world.
• Financial Flexibility. American Express cards provide credit that is determined by the financial status of the Cardmember, his credit history and solvency. American Express Cardmembers may benefit from a grace period of up to 45 days by fully repaying each month as well as pay the minimum repayment amount each month. There is no prepayment or deposit required on American Express cards. Cardmember may use the card immediately upon its activation. American Express Cardmembers may receive cash in more than 650 000 ATMs worldwide.
• Lifestyle Benefits Through a programme called American Express SELECTS®, American Express Cards provides exclusive Cardmember offers at thousands of hotels, restaurants and retailers in over 40 countries around the world.
• Travel Benefits. In addition to a worldwide network of travel offices, Cardmembers can also receive emergency medical and legal referrals, and assistance with passports or visas in foreign countries through American Express Global Assist.

• Cardmember protection at home and abroad. These American Express Cards provide a broad package of insurance benefits, including coverage in the event of theft or accidental damage to purchased goods for 90 days; travel accident insurance for Cardmembers and their families; travel inconvenience insurance covers the purchase of new clothing or food in the event of luggage loss or flight delay.
